When temperatures plummet and icy winds can make it uncomfortable to be outside, you need a jacket that will protect you from the elements and keep you feeling warm and snug.
Whether you are out on the bank fishing, walking the dog, or even popping down the pub, the Thermolite Puffer Jacket, will not only keep you warm but is also very comfortable to wear and looks great.
Water resistant puffer style jacket
The Korda Thermolite Puffer Jacket has been designed with warmth in mind, but is still water resistant enough that it will help to keep you dry if you get caught out in a shower, thanks to the outer material having a 3K hydrostatic head as well as a durable water repellent coating, which has been designed to keep on performing throughout the life of the jacket.
Korda Thermolite Puffer Jacket has a hi-tech filling
This DWP coating isn’t the only hi-tech material which we’ve utilised, as the jacket is filled with our Thermolite padding, where we’ve used hollow fibre technology to deliver as much warmth as possible from the minimum amount of filling, in terms of its weight.
Not only is this filling incredibly warm for its weight and bulk, but it also has hydrophilic properties, which means that it can maintain its performance and help keep you warm even if it does get wet – although the outer is water repellent, it will eventually soak through if you’re out in rain for a prolonged period, and we do sell DryKore jackets that are designed specifically for those conditions.
Not only will this filling ensure that you stay warm and helps to provide the optimal amount of heat that your body needs, it also makes the jacket feel very snug to wear, whilst being light enough that it won’t restrict your movements and you can’t feel the weight of it on your body, unlike some jackets of this type.
Durable and hard wearing material
Being outside all the time, especially around lakes whilst fishing, means that any jacket designed for this purpose has to be hard wearing and able to withstand coming into contact with undergrowth and the like, plus of course during the winter you are going to be wearing it for a large percentage of the time you spend on the bank.
To help ensure that it is able to withstand the constant rigors of outdoor pursuits, the outer shell is made from two-layer bonded fabric, which won’t easily snag or tear.
Protection from any cold draughts you may encounter whilst wearing it
Its warmth is further enhanced by its windproof properties as well, which not only help prevent cold draughts from penetrating through the jacket, but the tailoring, with a longer than usual back, help prevent the jacket from riding up above the top of your trousers when you sit down, and so give your lower back plenty of protection.
The neck also zips all the way up to prevent draughts from entering at the top of the jacket, yet still feels very comfortable around your face and neck, and doesn’t feel as though it is restricting you. A padded hood completes the jacket, which is snug enough to keep your head warm and help prevent it from blowing off when it is windy, but still has enough space that a beanie hat or similar can be worn underneath it.
High quality materials and components
The Thermolite Puffer features two zipped outer pockets, which are not only useful for securely storing things such as your mobile phone, but are fleece lined so are great for keeping your hands warm, such as when stood looking out at the lake. There is also a zipped pocket inside for storing valuables.
High quality zips have been used throughout the jacket, and a flap helps ensure that cold air can’t easily get through the two-way main zip.
It is available in a choice of olive green or black, in sizes from small to XXXL.
