As an angler, there is nothing worse than getting wet feet whilst you are out fishing, as it makes the rest of the session uncomfortable, especially if that happens before you even get set up!
Whether you accidentally step too close to the waters edge and dunk the toe of your shoe into the lake, are just walking through wet grass early in the morning, or even just water running off of your DryKore Over Trousers, there are plenty of things in fishing that can result in a soaking wet foot, or both feet.

You also need something that won’t just stop your feet from getting wet, but is also comfortable to wear, as well as being good for the health of your feet, given how much time carp anglers spend out on the bank, and many fishing wellies and similar definitely don’t provide that, despite being waterproof.
So, Korda set about solving that problem and coming up with the perfect footwear for fishing, and after much development and testing, the DryKore Trainers are now available.
Korda DryKore Trainers are fully waterproof
When designing these trainers the most important factor was that they had to keep your feet dry in practical angling situations.
This meant that there was no point in just making the lower part of the Korda trainers waterproof – as is often the case with this type of footwear – as anglers are often walking through longer grass of undergrowth where the upper part of the shoe is also going to get soaked if it has rained or there is dew.

So, we opted to coat all of the fabric which has been used to make these shoes in a PFAS-free Durable Waterproof Repellent (DWR), and that includes the upper parts of the footwear and even the tongue, which is joined to the rest of the trainer so water can’t get inside.
This coating ensures that water beads up on the outside of the fabric and runs off, rather than soaking in.
That is paired with a special membrane as part of the outer fabric construction, which is fully waterproof and has a hydrostatic head of 25K, so even if water does fully go over the front of the shoe, it still won’t leak – unless you go deep enough that it actually comes over the opening at the top of the trainer where your foot goes in.

Any visitors to the Korda stand at recent shows will have seen the DryKore Trainers in action, partly submerged in a tank of water for two days solid, and where they stayed completely dry inside.
Breathable to aid with foot care on the bank
There isn’t much point in preventing water from getting through from the outside, unless you also do something to prevent moisture forming inside.
Our feet sweat when we are out on the bank, and when wearing footwear for extended periods of time that can have a detrimental effect on the health of your feet, unless you choose the right sort of shoes.

It is essential that your footwear is able to breathe, otherwise your feet will sweat and that will cause your socks and the inside of your shoes to become damp and uncomfortable.
The Korda DryKore Trainers feature a special breathable membrane that will help keep your feet feeling good throughout your session.
Tough and built to last
Footwear designed for fishing goes through a lot when it is out on the bank in all weathers, and constantly coming into contact with things such as mud, grit, and undergrowth.
So, we chose to use a Poly Oxford fabric with a tight basket weave construction, which ensures that it is highly resistant to tearing if you do catch your Korda trainers on a bramble, as well as resisting any scuffs or abrasions.

The rubber sole is also highly durable and designed for longevity, as well as providing consistently reliable grip and traction on a wide variety of different surfaces, in both wet and dry conditions, so you can have complete confidence in your footing.
The Korda DryKore Trainers comfortable durable rubber sole incorporates our heel positioning technology, which ensures excellent stability and balance even on uneven and the most challenging terrain, and that feet stay comfortable session after session.

Stylish, comfortable, and practical for fishing
Like all of the Korda Clothing range, it was essential to us that these trainers not only performed to a high level and provided all of the features that you need when out on the bank, but at the same time they also look the part and are comfortable – after all there is no point having waterproof shoes that you don’t actually like wearing because of how they look, or which don’t feel good when they are on your feet.

The DryKore Trainers are available in a choice of black and Dark Kamo, so these trainers slot seamlessly into all our clothing range that you may already have, including the existing DryKore range and look extremely stylish. They can just as easily be worn day to day, as well as when you are out fishing.
We have designed them so that they have a generous fit, meaning that when you get a bite in the early hours of the morning, you can quickly and easily get them on your feet. But at the same time these trainers also fit securely enough when properly laced up that your foot won’t move around inside them when walking.

The Korda DryKore Trainers come in sizes from 7 to 12 and are a true fit – if you are a half size, or are planning on wearing them with thick socks, then we would recommend going up a size, or you can head down to your local Korda stockist to try them on for a perfect fit before purchasing them.
