Danny Fairbrass was so frustrated at not being able to find exactly the type of trainers that he wanted to use out on the bank, that he decided to design some himself which had all the features that anglers would want.
The result of extensive testing, and trying different materials and designs/styles, is the Korda DryKore Trainers, designed specifically for anglers, whilst also looking stylish enough that you can happily wear them on a night out as well.

Danny had tried many of the other available options from the mass market, including various hiking, trail, and running trainers, but none were perfectly suited as fishing footwear, and all had flaws either in the way they performed or fitted when out on the bank. So, it made sense to him to come up with something better, that has been designed by anglers, for anglers.

Danny explains how he designed the Korda DryKore Trainers for the clothing range
The Korda DryKore Trainers take all of the best features found on other trainers and combine them into the perfect pair of fishing trainers, which not only do everything that Danny wanted them to, but also look great as well and go with the rest of the Korda Clothing range.
Danny revealed: ‘I’m extremely proud of these Korda trainers, as we’ve been through loads of samples and they’ve been rigorously lab tested, and I used them all last year, and if I can’t break them, no one can!

‘They came about because I couldn’t find a pair of waterproof trainers that I really liked, and so I decided to make my own.
‘Most waterproof trainers that I’ve found just look like a scaled down X-trail shoe or hiking boot, and I wanted ours to look like one of the sleek, modern running shoes, but with really good grip on them, which would be ideal for the slippery and muddy environments that we find ourselves in when fishing.
‘These DryKore Trainers are not just water resistant, they are actually waterproof, so they’ve got a 25K membrane that wraps round the entire inside, right up to the laces, so you can actually stand in shallow water in them, without your feet getting wet.

‘Durability and comfort were also really important, and although they are waterproof, they are also super breathable, meaning they can be worn in the summer or winter. We also made them nice and wide, so that anyone can get their feet into them and be comfortable.
‘Colour was also very, very important, so we ended up doing two, both of which are very palatable and which anyone will like. We chose a black sole with a black upper, or a green sole with a Dark Kamo upper, so they go with what you are wearing when you are fishing – but you could also wear them down the gym or the pub.’

What makes the fully waterproof Korda DryKore Trainers the perfect choice for anglers
The most important feature of the Korda DryKore Trainers is the fact that they are properly waterproof – not just water resistant – and feature a membrane with a 25K hydrostatic head, meaning that you can actually stand in the water and as long as you don’t go over the opening for your foot, your feet will stay totally dry.

That membrane is also what allows your feet to breathe when wearing these trainers, which is essential, otherwise your feet and socks will actually get wet from sweat, which isn’t good for your feet if you are spending prolonged periods of time with them like that – not to mention being very uncomfortable as well.
In addition to that inner membrane, the tough and durable Poly Oxford tight basket-weave fabric on the outside of the Korda trainers has also been treated with a Durable Waterproof Repellent), which means that water beads on it and runs straight off, rather than soaking in.

This material is highly resistant to tears, abrasions, and scuffs, and the rubber sole has also been built for durability, as well as providing fantastic grip on both wet and dry surfaces. Special heal positioning technology helps to keep your foot in the right position to ensure excellent stability on uneven terrain, as well as improved comfort.
These wide fitting DryKore Trainers come in sizes from 7-12 come in a choice of black or Dark Kamo.
