Wrap around sunglasses are a very popular choice for any outdoor pursuits as they’re very practical as well as being extremely comfortable to wear.
This style of sunglasses is designed to hug the contours of your face, and the curved shape of the frame and lenses reduces the amount of peripheral light that is able to enter from the side, thus improving your vision.

Great for cutting out light
There are two different models of wraps in the Korda range – Wraps MK2 and Wraps Standard – which have the same frame shape and are ideal for keeping the sun out of your eyes and reducing eye strain.
They closely follow the shape of your face and even curve around your eyes to give as much coverage as possible, plus the frames themselves and the arms are thick enough in that area that they will also help to stop light from entering.

This helps to prevent sunlight from entering from the side, which can reflect off of the inside of the lenses and will reduce your vision in bright conditions.
An added bonus is that this design also helps to block out the wind, which can make your eyes sore if it is coming from the wrong angle and if you’re exposed to it for a prolonged period of time – plus of course helps to stop dust and even pollen from irritating your eyes.
Polarised lenses
Both the Wraps MK2 and Wraps Standard come with polarised lenses which not only cut out a lot of the glare from harsh sunlight, as well as from the surface of water, but actually let you see down into the water, which makes them ideal for fishing, water sports, or just general outdoor usage.

These polarised lenses also help to differentiate colour and increased contrast when looking down into the water, so they will make it easier for you to spot fish.
Lens colour
Whilst polarised lenses all basically do the same job, the way in which they perform in different light conditions can vary a great deal depending on the lens colour.
The Wraps MK2 comes in a choice of two different coloured frames and lenses, with the matt black frames and brown lenses being ideal for harsher light conditions, as they are designed to block out more light, and improve depth perception and contrast.

There is also a matt green frame version which has yellow lenses, and this type of lenses actually helps to take advantage of the available light and enhance it, so they work extremely well in lower light conditions, where you are trying to spot fish in the water, or even just for seeing clear spots on the lake bed , or holes in the weed, at close range.
The Wraps Standard have a slightly thinner lenses than the MK2, hence the lower price, but they are still polarised and offer a high level of performance. They have black frames and come with a brown lenses, which is a good all round choice that works well in most light conditions.

Good secure fit
The frame shape not only blocks out the light but also provides a good, secure fit so you don’t have to worry about your sunglasses falling off whilst looking downwards into the water.
This also means that they don’t slip around on your face and constantly need to be adjusted, which is an advantage when using them to spot fish and where moving your hands around could spook them, plus of course when playing any sport.

The arms fit securely against the sides of your head, whilst at the same time not being noticeable or uncomfortable, and the MK2 version also has slots at the ends of them where a lanyard can be attached for extra security – lanyards that fit over the end of the arms rather than clipping on can also be used with the Standard model.
The Wraps MK2 has rubberised nose pieces to ensure not only a good fit on the bridge of your nose, but also one that is comfortable for a prolonged period of time. The Standard model has a frame that is shaped to comfortably sit on the bridge of your nose.
Built to last
Both models have frames which have been built to last and are made from strong, lightweight materials, so you will hardly even notice that you’re wearing them and aren’t constantly worrying about accidentally damaging them.

They have strong hinges which have been designed to withstand continued outdoor use, and the lenses are scratch resistant and shatterproof.
The MK2 comes complete with a zipped hard protective case plus a cleaning cloth, and the Standard has a cloth drawstring bag which also doubles up for cleaning the lenses.
